About kedarkantha : I loved walking between tall trees, chills in the air, the 28 km trek with mountain steepness of 45°-65°, temperature ranging between -1°to -10°, cold breeze, deep/dark velley, mid night mountain view, the small water streams on the way, and specially i loved waking up at 3am, sunrise view we had after so much of climbing at 7am. Standing up there at 12,500 Feet level between all the mountains around also taking deep breath through out the way was so satisfying. Also met lots of new people on the trekk. We had a private group of 7, including... read more our 11 and 15 year kids. It was our first camping experience. There was a lot of snow even end of March, due to late snowfall. Some of the stretches were little difficult to negotiate for some of us. The guide Mahipat-ji was caring and very helpful. The cook and support staff were excellent. The camps were comfortable with good quality sleeping bags. Overall, a very enjoyable experience for the whole group. A very well managed trip on their part. Thanks HT team. 2022 : We had gone for their Sandakphu trek starting on 23rd November 2022. The team size was 15. Overall, it was a well organized trek with decent accommodation and good food. Pros: - Had 2 guides with the team who, consistently remained on the front and back of the group. They encouraged the team members to remain positive, enjoy the view and keep walking. - Guides helped in arranging for jeep, when 2 of the team members were not feeling well. - Good home-like food in most of the places. - Clear communication about the pick-up and drop arrangement from NJP. Cons: - The place of stay in Tumling had the toilets not in very good shape. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we are looking forward to our next trip with Himalaya Trekkers team.

In fact, once you travel with HT, you will never even think of going with someone else. HT is doing a great work in bringing people closer to the mountains and I wish them all the success in the future.

My friend and I had a fantastic time trekking to Goche-la with Himalayan Trekkers. The HT team was pro-active with planning our trip and responsive to any questions that came up prior to our arrival. Hats off to Sapta, Ram and Bob who made sure we had a great time.... read more For a little background, my friend and I did the 6-day trek to Goech-la with side excursions to Dzongri and Lampokari (near Thangsing). We averaged about 8 to 10 miles a day and were able to handle the trails fairly easily. For our trip, we opted to acclimate at Thangsing instead of Dzongri. Dzongri seems to be the typical place where folks stay an extra day to get used to the elevation -- some doing a side excursion to Laxmi Pokari nearby. Going to Thangsing worked better for us too because it's nearly the same elevation and often less crowded (or at least there is more space to spread out at Thangsing). We also chose to do this trek "dry", meaning that we carried all of our supplies (tent, some dry food, etc.) and ate most of our morning/evening meals at trekking huts. This was actually a lot of fun because we got to hang out with many of the other guides and learn more about Sikkim. Our guide, a man who went by the name Bob Marley, was also fantastic. He's hilarious -- and definitely helped make the trip extra memorable. If I were to do this trek again, I would probably take an extra day and spend it at Thangsing. We were ambitious and summited Goche-la peak (8+ miles) and then ventured to Lampokari (8+ miles) on the same day. This was a lot for us, especially given the rather high average elevation. We were pretty beat by the end of the day -- but am VERY glad that we got to see Lampokari. For those who have the time, definitely check it out. Overall, our itinerary looked like this: Tuesday, October 17: Trek to Tshoka via Sachen, Bakhim (~ 2960 m/9700 ft) - 15/16 km, 6/7 hours. Tent. Wednesday, October 18: Trek to Dzongri via Phedang, visit Dzongri Top for sunset - 12 Km – 5/6 hours via Phedang. Tent. Thursday, October 19: Trek to Thangsing from Dzongri (~ 4100 m) - 10/11 Km - 5/6 hours. Tent (food from Trekkers Hut). Friday, October 20: Start early by 2:30/3 am trek to Samity lake and to Goechala View Point 1 (4600 m/15100 ft) for sunrise views - Approx 3 hours - Trek back to Lamuney and further down to Thansing. Tent. Saturday, October 21: Trek to Lampokhari from Thangsing (12 km, roundtrip), and continue to Tshoka. Camp at Tshoka. Sunday, October 22: Return to Yaksum

Hello, The Sandakphu trek was splendid. Apart from us 5, there were two excellent people with us who lit up the entire trek. Not to take any credits away from our trek guide (Arpan da) who was the corner stone of our entire experience. This was our first trek... read more and surely it was the perfect start for many more experiences ahead. If I might go ahead describing each day as per my experience- Chitray was excellent and felt like a small home away in the mountains. Food and stay was excellent here. Tumling- Sight of Kanchenjunga Range is excellent from here and surely must be the reason why it's the resting point of Day 2. But because of such beautiful sunrise, we get additional tourists which is always what trekkers are trying to avoid. I cannot suggest any other place but maybe a tad away from the focal point of all the tourists could be excellent. Additionally, my personal experience with food at Siddharth Lodge was not great. Possibly accounting so much tourists could be a reason but that's the only think I wish could be looked upon to make this more joyous! Kalpokhri- the trek was tiring but the place is so serene. If not for that long trek that almost took us 6pm (around 16km long trek) to reach Kalpokhri, I would have wished to reach there early and explore it a bit more. Maybe reducing the trek distance here and there could make it better as after reaching a place, I am always wishing to stay and explore it for sometime. As after reaching at 6pm , there is almost no way to explore it that day and for next day we left for Sandakphu by 8am. So yeah! I don't know how to sort this , maybe choosing any shorter trial could help.. But apart from it , stay and food was awesome. Sandakphu- no excuses, the toughest day of trek. But the views soothes all pain. And yes, the stay was comfy and food was good too. Timbure- possibly the best food we had was here. Stay was comfy and was much needed after that hard descent. Overall 4.5/5 from my side. It was a great trek to begin with. And looking forward to many such experiences with HT. Thanks for the trek

Our accommodation and food were excellent in Gobindoghat. But only the downside was the accommodation arranged in Ganghariah for gents in Gangotri lodge.
