Privacy Policy
This notice explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website or book a trip with us.
1) What we collect
-
- Contact & booking details — name, email, phone, address, trek selection, dates, payment status, and messages you send us.
- Documents for operations — ID details needed for permits, and (where relevant) basic health info you choose to share so our team can plan safely.
- Emergency contact — name and phone for use only during a trip.
- Website analytics — page views, clicks, device and browser info, approximate location, and session recordings using tools like Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics 4. IP addresses used for analytics may be masked or dropped by the provider before storage.
- Cookies — small files your browser stores so the site and analytics work. See “Cookies & consent” below.
2) Why we use your information
- To run trips — manage enquiries, bookings, payments, permits, campsite/transport logistics, and on-ground coordination.
- Safety & support — plan for fitness and altitude, handle first-aid/evacuation coordination, and contact your emergency person if needed.
- Insurance / assistance — help arrange or coordinate emergency assistance or insurance through licensed third parties (policy terms apply with the provider).
- Improve the website — understand what content helps trekkers and fix usability issues via analytics and session insights.
- Communication — send booking/proposal emails, reminders, and service updates you request.
5) How long we keep information
We keep booking and declaration records for as long as needed for operations, accounts, and to handle queries or disputes. Analytics data follows provider-level retention settings (we use GA4/Clarity controls to limit retention where available).
6) Your choices
- Access & correction — email us to view or correct your basic details.
- Analytics — you can ask us to stop measuring your sessions going forward; we’ll honour it where our tools allow.
- Media — if you want us to avoid using an identifiable image of you in future promotions, email us; we’ll act reasonably (see our T&C media section).
- Unsubscribe — trip updates are service messages you requested; optional newsletters (if any) include an unsubscribe link.
7) How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure on the internet; please take care with what you share.
8) Where your information is processed
Some providers we use operate globally. Your information may be processed on servers outside your home country by our analytics, email, or infrastructure vendors. We share the minimum necessary for the purpose described in this notice.
9) Children
For participants under 18, a legal guardian must complete bookings and sign the Declaration/Indemnity form.
